Reliability over WAN
Multicast traffic is prohibited in most of the providers’ networks due to its vulnerability. Moreover, multicast traffic has no built-in reliability, or its reliability makes networking performance very limited, even if it is enabled in the networks of providers. In contrast, RMDT provides full reliability for all receivers in a data transmission session even in WAN networks where many providers are involved.
End-to-end 10 G communication (1*10)
RMDT operates on multigigabit data rates, up to 10 Gbps. If many receivers are involved into a transmission process, a bandwidth will be shared between all of them. So you can send data in a point-to-point mode with a rate of up to 10 Gbps, or send data in a point-to-multipoint mode from 1 sender to 5 receivers with a rate of up to 2 Gbps to each of them. With RMDT, even 10 receivers can operate with a rate of up 1 Gbps in each direction.
Efficient system and network resources consumption
RMDT is a protocol, which considers the fact that the modern servers tend to evenly distribute their computational resources on many CPU cores, rather than concentrate them on a few high-frequency cores. This tendency allows RMDT to use multi-core advantages of the servers to handle the network streams even faster.
RMDT is a UDP-based transport protocol, which means no infrastructure changes are required to get all advantages of multigigabit data transfer. All network devices are able to handle RMDT traffic, and predictable behavior of RMDT data streams makes it easy to set up your internal firewalls.
